"Lost in the Crowd" is an entangled web of characters and symbols resulting in an allegory that possesses a meaning potentially subjective to the viewer. Like many of Mikel's works these characters emerged from an under painting and dream like imaginations. Many of the shapes seen here may have started off as an interesting scribble and slowly made it's way into a narrative through a lengthy cognitive process as the artist slowly gets acquainted with what this artwork is going to become and the feelings that are trying to emerge. In the middle we see a couple with a small child under the mother's arm. Around them there are menacing faces and figures which represent the challenges and influences that challenge their relationship.
